How can I reduce the cost of my machined parts?

How to reduce the processing cost of parts? Hubei Zhongrongda Machinery Technology Co., LTD has adopted CNC machining to shape the parts. In the design stage, Hubei should combine the characteristics of CNC technology as far as possible to design the drawings of the parts, and strive to reduce the processing cost while considering the processing aging and quality. Here are a few general optimization design ideas:

1. Reduce the requirement of precision tolerance of parts. The higher the requirement of precision of parts, the higher the requirement of equipment and process coordination, which leads to the exponential rise of processing cost, and the correlation between processing cost and precision tolerance

2. The wall thickness of parts using CNC turning milling metal parts less than 0.5mm or plastic parts less than 1.0mm, often need special tooling or use more precise equipment such as turning milling composite processing, which greatly increases the labor and replacement cost. Reduce the processing area to achieve cost reduction. Optimized design to reduce processing area

3. Reduce parts processing area

When the parts have high requirements for the flatness (parallelism) of the whole surface, the boss structure can be optimized by referring to Figure 2 (the flatness of the bottom surface of the parts in Figure 2 is ±0.01mm) to reduce the processing area to achieve the purpose of reducing costs.

4. If the outer edge of the part is rounded with C Angle instead of R Angle, the unit cutting time of the rounded Angle is longer than the bevel Angle in addition to the secondary clamping and milling cutter (increasing labor cost). The outer edge of the part is replaced by bevel Angle

5. Reserve R Angle surplus for internal Angle of parts with concave structure should be reserved for rounded Angle assembly surplus as far as possible, and R Angle radius should be directly consistent with the milling cutter. FIG. 4 In the design of parts (before optimization), because R-angle assembly surplus is not reserved, it cannot be formed in one time through milling pin, so it is necessary to use more expensive EDM to reserve R-angle surplus for internal corners of parts

6 depth to width ratio less than 3:1 milling pin processing area should not be too deep, the design parts will be reasonable depth to width ratio within 3:1, can effectively avoid due to the milling cutter force surface longer may cause the invisible cost of breaking.
